 We knew Brother Norm Skarie as a grave, temperate, sober-minded, and an austere man of God as well as responsive to Jesus’ call to create, grow, and care for this web site. All in addition to teaching Prophecy class. Norm's passion was the work on this web site, and before he passed away to go home, he left on the site the following testimony in his own words.
According to Norm, it was in the Summer of 1997 that the Lord gave him just three words, Grace God's Way. He discerned it God’s will for a web site through which hungry hearts would be introduced to Paul's Gospel in truth. There was just one problem, said Norm, he knew nothing about the internet or web site design and very little about computers. He started at first by having a gentleman design the site for him. That proved to be far too expensive to put all of the Grace & Glory materials available on such one site.
In time, God brought him to a place in which he found that he could do a few basic things with the web site. He recalled the day that he first uploaded Grace God's Way himself with the much needed help of a very nice man from KCnet. Praise God, by God’s grace, Norm became very proficient with the program and could make the site much more complex. However, he felt the advantage to retain the simplicity of the web site so that the focus would remain on God's word.
By Norm’s own account, he received salvation by grace, and the new birth in Christ, in 1986. He graduated Grace & Glory Bible College in the Summer of 1994 and began teaching Prophecy in Grandview Missouri that same Fall. Norm became a very good prophecy teacher and he continued in that capacity until the Lord took him home April 4, 2007. In the 1990’s, Norm and and wife Mary Pastored a small rural grace meeting in Burlingame Kansas for about 3 years. Mary and Norm wholeheartedly embraced the Gospel of the Grace of God. With Norm’s passing, more light has left this present world and he will be missed.
